Pattypan Squash

I just think they're wonderful. So roundishly cute, I almost feel like petting them, as if they had jolly little personalities to go with the shape. Who could have thought up something like this?

One of the joys of summer that I keep trying to come up with when it's so easy to think only of the heat!

Oh the pretties! We don't see them much, but how to cook them without spoiling the shape is the problem. My nephew who was a baby in South Africa was weaned on them, apparently. He's a strapping bif chap now so they must have doen him good!

Well, I don't know what any proper way to cook them is, but I slice them crossways so each one is like a large flat flower shape, and just saute them in olive oil with salt and pepper....
