Snow Day II

(1) We had more snow!

(2) And so you know

(3) Out for a walk

(4) We had to go!

(5) Then home again,

(6) Good things have ends.

(7) What fun to walk

(8) With such good friends.

I suppose if I spent enough time at it, I could figure out how to do the layout more effectively. But who wants to spend time doing that when there is all that white stuff outside??

Would anyone care to share what they like to do on rare snow days? (Feel free also to comment on how cute our dogs are. They never get enough of it.)

I love the snow. Both Kendra (my wife) and I grew up in the north and our children spent the better part of their short lives in the north. So we love the snow. One thing I like to do is drink a cup (or half depending on how cold it is) outside. There is just something about fresh steaming coffee, long-sleeve shirt, a cold nose and a warm mouth and tummy. Not sure why, but this is one of my favorite moments in the snow, especially if it snowed at night and it is fresh powder as I survey the land and drink my coffee.

My kids and wife are huge on building snowmen.

PS - your dogs are cute. Give 'em a scratch behind the ear for me.

Mmmm, I like that idea. (We sure don't have fresh powder this time! More like a fresh coat of polyurethane with white sand sprinkled in...At least in our part of town.)

It's been so long that I've forgotten what I liked to do in the snow. In Kansas it was 'walk briskly into the house/store/filling station/'.

Oh, the snow, the snow! I have wonderful memories of walking around in Monticello during a rare snow that eventually left 14 inches of snow on the ground. It was amazing. I took a video camera out with me so I could tape the snow coming down. Hmmm -- I wonder if I still have that tape. Like Memphis, Monticello often had blooming daffodils before a snowfall came. That year, we went from enjoying the contrast of daffodils surrounded by snow to seeing them be completely covered up. It was beautiful and white and crisp and clean.

I love snow.

Yes, he's certainly a cutie. And extremely well-behaved. Definitely the Alpha Dog around here.
